Matthew P.-A. DeCloedt
Matthew was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He obtained a BA(Hons) in History in 2013 and Juris Doctor in 2016 from the University of Saskatchewan. During law school, Matthew spent a semester at Community Legal Assistance Services for Saskatoon Inner City Inc. (CLASSIC) and received the Sam Beckie Prize in Clinical Law, Gerda Bloemraad Price in Immigration Law, and Foster Prize in Human Rights.
Matthew attended Central European University (CEU), acquiring his LLM in Human Rights in 2018 and SJD/Dr.iur. in 2023. During his doctoral studies, he was granted a CEU Doctoral Scholarship and awards for academic achievement. Matthew served as a Visiting Lecturer at ELTE Faculty of Law in Budapest in the spring of 2023, and as a Visiting Professor at CEU in Vienna in the fall of 2023.
Matthew joined Rusnak Balacko Kachur and Rusnak as an articling student in September 2024.
