Wayne received his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1972. He worked for the Grotsky Milliken Law Firm as a summer student in 1970 and 1971, and then did his articles with the Milliken & Plosz Law Firm in 1972 and 1973. He joined the firm as an Associate in 1973 with Milliken & Plosz Law Firm in 1973, and became a partner in Milliken & Rusnak in 1974. Since 1978 he has been a partner in Rusnak Balacko Kachur Rusnak.

Wayne has been a volunteer lecturer for Public Legal Education Association, the solicitor for the Yorkton Terriers, and a speaker at many conferences. He is a past Director of Saskatchewan Trial Lawyers Association and the York Lake Regional Park Authority, and was a seminar leader of the Canada Student Leadership Conference.

 

Wayne was appointed City solicitor for City of Yorkton in 1978, and still serves in that capacity. He was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2008. Wayne has been involved in civil litigation since 1973, including personal injury claims, family law, medical malpractice, wrongful dismissal, product liability, wrongful death and contractual disputes. He has appeared in courts at all levels in Saskatchewan, and at the Supreme Court of Canada.
